The Ninoy Aquino International Airport is the main airport serving the Manila area. It is located between the cities of Pasay and Parañaque, about 7 kilometers south of Manila proper. The airport is named after Senator Benigno Aquino Jr., who was assassinated at the airport in 1983. The airport is managed by the Manila International Airport Authority.
